The Black Panther and king of Wakanda, T'Challa, passed away in 2020

leaving Marvel Studios with two options: recast the role or

pay respect in the follow-up film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

By choosing the latter, writer-director Ryan Coogler was charged with

writing a tale about T'Challa's death as well as about who takes

over as the Black Panther when he passes away. The name of T'Challa's successor

was teased in the movie's trailers, but the actual film

is very open about it and gives the solution right away.
