Thousands of mink were released from their cages by

vandals at a remote northwest Ohio farm, leaving thousands

of the small carnivorous creatures missing, according to investigators.

At Lion Farms USA Mink Farm in Hoaglin Township,

which is roughly 15 miles from the Indiana state border,

the break-in was discovered early on Tuesday morning.

The sheriff's office said that around 10,000 mink

were still missing as of Tuesday afternoon.
